Experience

Coordinator

Coordinating the HACC program from the Mimili Family Centre on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands). The program provides services to the disabled and aged in community. Engaging with service providers to coordinate a strategic approach for service delivery for Mimili. Established a Steering Committee providing guidance and input into program delivery. Promoting and mentoring staff for further training opportunities.

Foster Carer

Provided emergency foster care for children under protection of Territory Families for varying reasons. I cared for a brother and sister for six months and had a total of seven children under my care for one year. Their ages ranged from 4 to 12 years of age. I have an Ochre (Working with Children) Card and an Australian National Police Check.

Acting Deputy CEO

On secondment for 1 year to NPY Women’s Council working with the women across the region on issues affecting their communities, focusing specifically on support for Aboriginal workers through the development of the Aboriginal Employment Strategy for NPY Women’s Council.

Aboriginal Justice Unit

Working on a pilot project for the NT Government and an alternative to NT Aboriginal women involved in the criminal justice system. The facility provides rehabilitation services such as trauma and grief counselling, money management, family law and legal matters, drug and alcohol counselling, domestic violence counselling, family reunification, employment whilst at the facility and later in community, follow up services on community with various service providers and further education opportunities. My role was to ensure basic services, procedures, policies and infrastructure needs had been met before the start of program.

Executive Liaison Officer

Working closely with Directors, Coordinator, managers, staff and members on issues relating to alcohol, substance abuse, child protection, domestic violence, educational scholarships, advocating on behalf of our members, liaising with government departments for better service delivery in a region. Promoting and encouraging women in our region to take up leadership positions. Participating in workshops on governance training for women young and old in our tristate region of WA, SA & NT.
